Posies Philosophy

 
​ The philosophies and teaching styles of RIE, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori have helped form our culture and community.  We foster and support each child’s individuality and focus on the development of the whole child.

​The space is designed as a low tech environment to provide learning opportunities through language development, art experimentation, physical exploration, scientific inquiry and creative thinking. Our hope is that Posies kids will grow into conscious and socially aware citizens of their communities!

We want you to view Posies as an extension of your home and family. We view the parent’s role in our community not as one of supporter and observer, but as an active participant in your child’s living, learning, and childhood experience during their time with us. This is the first step in what will hopefully be a long partnership regarding your life’s most precious work: your child.

Parent proximity to our classrooms is currently restricted, and may likely be the case for the foreseeable future. In response, we are utilizing the app "himama" as a tool to share photos and daily logs, and to foster connection between school and home. 

​In joining our program, you have the opportunity to be a part of this community for years to come. It's our hope that as time moves on we'll be able to return to the days of parent gatherings and on-site check ins inside our classroom. For the time being, we're committed to adapting to provide the best emergency care possible, and to foster a safe, stable, engaging, and nurturing environment for your child to learn, play, and grow.
